Characteristics of the hot runner system

- Jul 04, 2019-

First, the advantages of the hot runner system:

1. Saving plastic raw materials: There is no production waste in the pure hot runner mold because there is no cold runner. This is especially significant for applications where plastics are expensive. In fact, the major hot runner manufacturers in the world have experienced rapid development in the world when oil and plastic materials are expensive. Because hot runner technology is an effective way to reduce material costs and reduce material costs.

Second, the characteristics of the hot runner system:

(1) Plasticization: that is, a glass state, a high elastic state (rubbery state), a viscous flow state (plasticizable state), and a decomposition state.

Glass state: 0 ~ T1, the molecule is in a frozen state, hard and brittle, and it is easy to break when subjected to pressure.

Viscous flow state (plasticizable state): T2 ~ T3, can be freely formed.

Decomposition state: T3, the plastic begins to crack, gas decomposition products appear, and even burnt state.

(2) Forming conditions: After the parts are molded by the hot runner mold, they are finished products, and there is no need to trim the gates and recycle the processed cold runners. Conducive to production automation. Many foreign manufacturers have combined hot runners with automation to significantly increase production efficiency.

Molding cycle: Due to the limitation of the cooling time of the sprue system, the parts can be ejected in time after curing. Many thin-walled parts produced with hot runner molds have a molding cycle of less than 5 seconds.

Expanding the scope of application: Many advanced plastic molding processes are developed on the basis of hot runner technology. Such as PET preforming, multi-color co-injection in the mold, a variety of materials co-injection process, STACK MOLD.
